Microsoft office 2007

I am running Office 2007 and find that when I go to open a email it can take a few minutes to open even if only text.
I have upgraded from 2003 but all the programs in 2007 seem soooooo slow to open.
Any ideas?

tell us some more symptoms like:

is your disk LED blinking like crazy when opening the Office documents

what does Task Manager say about your memory usage

have you done a disk cleanup followed by a defrag lately

is your virus software up-to-date

etc

Symantec, I would be willing to put money down on it. if you disable your anti-virus, things will go much more quickly (including viruses, ugh). Even after you do this, you will have stupid delays with just viewing emails. Pull up Outlook, click on a header, see it chug and choke for a few seconds until it finally renders the message.

There are all sorts of people talking about ways to optimize 2007, take with a grain of salt.

I am amongst the Office 2007 curmudgeons in this office. The other tech fully enjoys 2007 and has no idea what my problem is.
