Microsoft ODBC for Oracle

I get the following error message when testing my connection with a .udl

[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

There is no issue with the TNSNAMES.ORA

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. It usually works after a reboot. I believe this is an issue with MDAC 2.8. It works fine with MDAC 2.6. Any ideas of how I can resolve.

Any reason why you're using a Microsoft driver for Oracle, rather than the Oracle driver for Oracle?

I've had problems with the MS driver in the past and have discontinued using.

I am not familiar with this problem application but it won't work with the Oracle OBDC driver. It seems that with the ms driver, it works fine for the first two connections and then gives the error. I think I will need to look deeper into the app and see if i can get the oracle driver to work.
