Microsoft Mail Slow on one machine sometimes

I have one computer connected to our server and it recieves email at record slow times sometimes it takes as much as a day and a half to recieve I have set outlook to check for new messages every 2 minutes. I cannot figure it out i have checked the path and replaced the hosts file. I just can't figure it out.
