Hello everyone ...

Does anyone know why the Microsoft PhoneDialer software
(Standard wiht Win2000) can't establish connection with
another PC.

The phone line has a dial-tone, My modem works perfectly,
It calls the correct number, The other PC is working and
running the <PhoneDialer> program and it is waiting for
incoming calls.

NOTE: When the MODEM is finished dialing the number, it
instantly hangs-up saying that the recipient could not
take the call or there was no active recipient at the other side of the line.

One way to isolate the problem (which PC is at fault) would be to pick up a telephone and dial the modem you are trying to call. You should get a call termination resulting in a "squeal" as the receiving modem begins the "handshake" process, if this does not occur, then the called modem may not be configured to auto-answer - if you do hear the "squeal", then the calling modem may either not be receiving (defective modem, modem cable or jack) or is dialing the wrong number.
