I have this block of data that puts itself right in the middle of my Internet page and keeps th sand-dial (time-out)clock going. This keeps you from being able to do a lot that I need to do with applications. This box pops out whether the Internet Explorer is connected. I want to eradicate this error message from my computer but I don't know where to look, here it is:
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, We are sorry for the inconvenience.
----------------------------------------------------------
If you were in the middle of something the information you were working on might be lost.
PLEASE TELL MICROSOFT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. (and it gives you a link to send to MicroSoft to fix, but all that does is knock that Internet session off the Internet. MICROSOFT never responds.
If anyone could help me to eradicate this error message from my computer I would be very grateful

Is this a data access page, ASP, PHP, .NET? Do you get the error pop up on this page alone or do other pages cause the error. What about other browsers?

Let me have some more detail - I have a hazy recollection of this happening to me last summer with a CF app I was making.

Could you specify a bit? What kind of data? where does it come from?
Is this related to Access at all or a mere System/IE problem?
In the latter case, forum616 might serve you better.
Else, please tell us, how the data is sent to the page.

dandyboy,

virus defs up to date? no spyware? doesn't seem like a message that ms would generate, especially the 'We are sorry for the inconvenience' part. happening only with access or with other apps?

some more info might help.

regards,

longhair

Thanks to all who responded, I have downloaded the message but I had severe problems inserting it or doing a copy /paste. Please send email addresses and I'll send the whole message to you. It looks like an official message but there isn't much that I can do with it. I'll try pasting again:

Thanks for any/all attempts given to help me beat this. The actual message comes in a really nicely configured, well colored textbox. I tried several ways to attach and/or copy and paste this to the actual thread in tek-tips but it never worked. I was able to attach it to the bottom of this email. I encourage you to take a look at the attachment and get back to me. I tried to attach and copy paste but I can't do that with threads like I do with e-mails.

Special thanks to MAKEITSO for I did send the entire message to the emails you provided.

dandyboy,

it sounds like spyware or a virus to me. ms error messages will usually contian the offending .dll. a quick search of google turned this site up:
look at the last entries. get adaware & spybot and see what they turn up on your system.
are your virus defs up to date?

regards,

longhair
