I am using the older microsoft mail feature included in windows nt, 98 & 95..... It is used as a way to send mail to a group from our call ticket software. It is used this way so that nobody has the ability to reply back to the sender, otherwise we would just use exchange. It works fine internally without the entry for outbound mail. All inbound mail works fine with the server entry I use for internet mail......problem is we need to have it send externally too. ANyone know what I am missing here.....I do see the entry "forward all outbound mail to the following server" and I have tried several servers..to no avail.

ANy help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Axeman66,

Why don't you check out the FREE, open source, well supported, very versatile, Blat email sending utility?

Blat is shipped as both a EXE and as a DLL. These are standalone files that do not have any dependencies nor do they need to be registered (like some 3rd party COM or ActiveX components). Each of these files is about 80K and you only need one.

More information on Blat available at (including links to a free Yahoo news group dedicated to Blat).

Also - search for Blat on Fox.wikis.com for some example code on how to use Blat with VFP.

Sample VFP code also at

Blat is one of those GREAT products that does one thing very well ... and yet remains simple, easy, and reliable to use.

My experience with Blat has been so positive that I have begun migrating all my email sending code from 3rd party components to Blat.

Good luck!

Malcolm

Axeman66,

I would endorse Malcom's enthusiasm for Blat. I particularly like using the DLL version, as it is easy to program and doesn't need any ActiveX controls to be distributed. You should at least consider it.
