I have the above-listed mouse, but maybe not for much longer LOL! I'm having some odd problems I thought I'd toss out here and see if anyone could offer any advice. This mouse uses the Intellipoint software to control mouse functions and program the side buttons. When I have the mouse plugged into USB, the Intellipoint software continually quits working. It's still in the tray, but the mouse moves very slowly and the side buttons don't work. I can close Intellipoint and reopen it and it will work fine, but usually not for more than a few minutes. If I put the mouse in the PS/2 port, the Intellipoint never quits working, but the mouse movement is very jerky and it is almost impossible to click on a specific small spot because the mouse pointer quivers so terribly on even small movements.

I've completely uninstalled Intellipoint. I've downloaded the latest version. All to no avail. If anything the problems have increased.

The mouse is about 2 years old. With the kind of money I paid for it I would have hoped for more than 2 years out of it!

Any thoughts?

Hi, I have one of those too, and it has not caused me any problems. I agree that it should be good for more than 2 years although, these days, how long is the whole PC good for LOL! If we're talking about a Win9x system my suggestion: boot to 'safe' mode, check in StartButton>Settings>ControlPanel>System>DeviceManager>mouse for more than one devices. If you find more than one, delete them all, reboot the system and reinstall as per normal. Especially if your system is pre-Win98SE, I would get updates for the O/S from the Windows Update site. Win95c had common problems with USB support. HTH ---Will

I've been through the Device Manager route as well... And I'm running Win2K Pro. Shouldn't be (if that means anything lol) a USB issue as all my other USB devices run flawlessly.

And actually the issue is now a non-issue. Yesterday evening I finally had all I could take and went out and bought the Logitech Mouseman optical/cordless. So far so good!

Tx for your reply -- have a good one!
