Hi there. I hope someone has come across this problem before. I have a user who is unable to access any mails from her Exchange client through a Citrix connection. She has the correct windows\forms directory and .dat file. She also has full control of her home dir. Other users on the same server are able to view and send mails without problems.

I can log in to either an NT 4 or Win 95 workstation and view/send mails from her account sucessfully.

Any ideas as to what I'm missing here? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Found the problem. The user's NT account was corrupted. Recreated the user account, things are fine now. Quite a painful search to correct that... [sig][/sig]

I have problem accessing mail. I installed Exchange client on a citrix server, Exchage server is install on another NT server. To test, I just added my profiles as I normally do on a workstation. When I logon I can get a display of mailbox and all. New mail arrived appeared in the box, But when I tried to open a mail message I got this :
The item could not be displayed. THe object could not be found.Launching default form instead? When I click OK I got another message : the command could not be carried out..
What did you have to do extra on the Citrix Server. Please advise.
Thank you

You need to make sure that each user's profile directory has a windows\forms directory. The form directory should contain a configs directory that has some icons and the files frmcache.dat and frmcache.bak. Those 2 files have the forms that are used to view mail.

Good luck. [sig][/sig]

I copied Forms directory from %systemroot%\ to my profiles\windows\. Still got the same messages. Any other idea? Did you have to do anything with TCP/IP port setting and stuff?
Thanks [sig][/sig]

tk36, it sounds like you did not run the ACS when you installed Outlook. You should not need to copy the forms directory anywhere.

My suggestion is un-install and re-install Outlook (via add/remove programs in Control Panel), run the ACS, then set the personal files to the user's home directory. [sig][/sig]

I re-copied the Forms and restart the machine, it works now. Thank you so much.

I an running Exchange (for the time being). I have taken note of your advice. If and when I install Outlook I will put it to good use. Thank you [sig][/sig]

I suspect this is all down to the frmcache.dat file in the forms folder, Citrix seems to dish out a corrupted version of this file to new profiles. It should be copied from the local Administrators profile. It is the file that holds messages when they are open or being created. A full reboot shouldn't be necessary, just cycling the exchng32.exe (inbox) in the clients connection. The frmcache.bak would be the old corrupted file and is of no use to anybody. There is this and a few others that I just make part of a routine, I've got an update batch that I run, takes care of these little quirks, sorry , I mean un-documented features.

But then everybody seems to know about this already, and all issues are resolved , so I'll shut up, well done everybody!
