I have been using Arcserve for years. I am currently running ARCserve 2000 Workgroup Edition Version 7.0 Build 1100. I run nightly backups. One tape backups my whole server. I run in sequence 15 tapes. I have the past three weeks backuped by day. Since I started using ArcServe I never have had 15 days go by where I have had good backups. The database either becomes corrupted or the server reboots for no apparent reason while it is in backup mode.

What I normally do to fix it is try to stop the job and restart the server. Then I run the VLDB database tools, fix, defrag, keybuild etc. Then I let the job automatically run again the next nite and it works for two or three days and the same thing happens again.

Sometimes, every 6 months or so my database becomes so screwed up that I have to reinitialize the database and start completely over again.

To get back to my question - I need to start my "Microsoft Exchange Backup Agent" at startup and it does start, because it is in the Startup directory, but it needs a mouse click on "OK" to start completely. If my computer locks up on a backup when I am not here it will automatically reboot, but it stays on the Microsoft Exchange Backup Agent configuratuion window until someone clicks OK. How can I get it to click OK by itself?

Hi
I think better to use SQL it is more powerfull than VLDB

What do you mean to start the backup Agent manually,it is started automatically... give more explaination..

Mohamdr:

The exchange server agent configuration screen comes up, but you have to click "OK" to have it login with system username and password. If I am out of town and the computer reboots, I come back two days later with the server started and that window waiting for an "OK" - meanwhile I missed two days of backups. Is there any way to get Windows NT to click that OK button?

Thanks Matt
