Hello to all

To help improve the customisation skills in the Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) community, Microsoft will be offering three training courses in two locations in the Asia Pacific region. These courses are open to all partners and customers worldwide. You may select which of the courses you wish to attend or attend all three.

The trainer for these courses will be David Musgrave. David has presented at conferences and delivered training around the world. Based in Perth, Western Australia, David has been working as a Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) developer and consultant for 13 years (the past 6 with Microsoft). He is currently working with the Microsoft Dynamics GP Asia Pacific support team as an escalation engineer and consultant. David is the original author of Named Printers, Advanced Security, Field Level Security, and Business Activity Statement (for Australian GST), and he has made a number of contributions to the code in the core Microsoft Dynamics GP Dictionary.

Course Description:

Dexterity I (previously Dexterity Fundamentals) – (5 days)-
This course will teach the development environment used to build the Microsoft Dynamics GP family of products. This course will provide the foundation needed to build integrated, database-independent applications.

Report Writer – (2 days)-
This in-depth course will explain how Report Writer can be used to customize reports to best meet your clients needs.

Modifier & VBA (3 days)-
This in-depth course will explain how to use the Modifier and VBA to customize Dynamics GP windows and reports. With the Modifier and VBA, screens can be modified based on user needs, global changes to graphics and text can be made, fields added to forms, and Visual Basic for Application (VBA) programming code can extend the functionality of Dynamics GP.

Registrations for the Singapore Training courses are closing soon and we need a few more attendees to ensure that the classes run.

Please note that the GP Customisation tools (Dexterity, Report Writer and Modifier with VBA) will be used for the core Microsoft Dynamics GP client for at least ten more years.

Training opportunities for these tools are rare worldwide and even rarer in the Asia Pacific region and this is an opportunity that should not be missed.

Having knowledge of Dexterity and Modifier/VBA allows the consultant or developer to better support and customise the Microsoft Dynamics GP product.

Having a choice of tools available will allow the right tool for the job to be selected. Some customisations are are best achieved as hybrid code using both Dexterity and VBA.

These courses are available to all partners and customers worldwide and will not be available again any time soon.
