Hi there,
Has anyone else out there used Microsoft's DPAPI ( data Protection API ) ?
I found an article about it among their 'best practices'
suggesting encrypting connection strings in the web config, and like the fact that you don't need to store the salting part of the value anywhere.
I've managed to follow their code and got the services compiled, etc, I've got to the last stage, where you create a simple page where you enter a word and can encrypt and decrypt it and see the values.
Problem is, I enter a value and hit the Encrypt button and I get the message:
No server registered or could not load class for CLSID {33B30477-C797-3F0F-94C8-129C7FEED3E8}
System.TypeLoadException: No server registered or could not load class for CLSID {33B30477-C797-3F0F-94C8-129C7FEED3E8}.
Now at the bottom of their article, there's a section on what to do if you get errors, but it doesn't mention this error.
Can anyone help, I can't believe I'm amost there with it and at the last hurdle I'm stumped!!!
Thanks,
Steve
