I am working at home with a 2mb line and I am trying to run a report on access but will not run. When I check the status of access in task manager it is "not responding"? the report takes about 10-15mins to run in the office but at home it never finishes?? I really think its my broadband connection? Anyone have any thoughts?

I think 10-15 minutes is too long. Are you using VPN or terminal services or Citrix?

If it takes 10-15 minutes on a LAN connection, then it will take forever over a WAN (even if you have high-speed internet).

The "Not responding" status in Task Manager is a little misleading. It does not (necessarily) mean that the application has crashed. The status refers to the window status and only means it is not responding to keyboard or mouse input - which is to be expected if the database is running a query, report, etc.

As Duane and Joe have said though if the report takes 10 to 15 minutes to run over a LAN it's gonna take a looooong time over a 2mb broadband connection.
