All,

Will the Microsoft Client for Netware work with the cluster services of Netware 6?

Thanks

Rob

Hi.
Cluster services runs on the servers & is transparent to the client PC's.

Doesn't the Netware Servers use IP for Clustering, and if the clients are using CSNW provided by MS and use IPX, how would they communicate?

I guess I should have asked some questions before blurting out answers.

First, I have to admit that I've been avoiding IPX since NetWare 5 came out and I've been avoiding the MS client since before that.

I don't believe it would work with IPX because the virtual server name for the clustered resource would have to advertise itself in SAP in order to allow you to map to it. I don't believe that cluster svcs will do this.

If you were just using IP, however, I could be reasonably sure that it would work since the clients aren't really aware of the cluster. They just execute the login script and get their drive letters.

If you'd use the Novell client with IP, I can be absolutely sure of your success.

Maybe somebody else can shed additional knowledge to help you.
