Microsoft broswer with ActiveX Problem!

Somehow i downloaded some kind of search browser attachement from Lop.com.... it messed up my Microsoft browser to the point of not loading ANYTHING including windows updates or norton updates. I finally i was able to uninstall this attachement but my browser is still not loading pages. i have tried to download the updates with another browser but it needs ActiveX so i am thinking this is the problem... i have checked the controls on the Microsoft browser and it says they are activated but still nothing any suggestions?
