A user has a laptop that has Microsoft Antispyware (beta) installed on it, and it must have removed a spyware program and along with it the spyware-based LSPs, and the user no longer has Internet connection wirelessly. Per the Microsoft knowledge base, the antispyware program does not restore any LSPs after removing the spyware--so they give directions on how to reset the Winsock catalog. But after resetting the catalog, they say to test any third party programs that use LSPs and re-install any malfunctioning third party programs.....my question is.....how do i know what third party programs use LSPs.....?????

microsoft article ID 892350

thanks!

This issue can occur if the MS-Antispyware product has to remove nasties in your LSP stack.

It is not unheard of as an issue, and quite frankly is an issue with several anti-malware removal tools.
