Does anyone have any comments on the acquisition of ProClarity by Microsoft?

got a link for this? I know proclarity has wanted this for over 5 years now they thought it was going to happen in 2001. MS definately has a need for a full fledged reporting, ad hoc query package for AS. If this is in fact the real deal I look forward to seeing what MS can do to improve what is currently proclarity and how they plan to market it.

Actually I found the press release on proclarity's site. Now I look forward to seeing how they integrate Proclarity and Reporting services as many BI implementations are a combination of static reports (Reporting Services) and ad hoc (Proclarity) Excel Pivot Table and OWC currently don't cut it for complex analysis and cube structures.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is OWC?

OWC = Office Web Components.

Specific portions of office applications have been leaned out and are available as I believe an OCX this allows people to access AS cubes across the web and still use excel pivot tables to work with the data.
