Have win 8.1 The laptop has multiple users on it.
Would like those users to all be local users, and log into a single Microsoft account when needed.

When I try to log into a Microsoft account from a local user, it will not let me change the user name, only allows me to enter the password. Any way around this?

You can either log in as a Local User or with a Microsoft Account.

Is using Aliases an option?

Log on to your Microsoft Account at

https://account.microsoft.com/

in your Browser.

Under basic info, click on Manage Aliases.

Add your new email as an Alias.
