I was able to scroll through records in a MS Access form, using the buttons down at the bottom of the form. I then added a new field to the form and can no longer do this. When I try to move to the next record after populating this new field, it gives my a "Calculating..." message and stalls

What happens if you take the field/control off the form?
Are there any combo boxes with large Row Sources? How about code or macros related to the data in your form's record source?

Yes, I did add a new field that is associated with a Form_AfterUpdate procedure. I use this to show the last time the record was updated.

Can you share all the significant information?
What's the procedure?
Did you try remove it as I suggested in my first reply?
Did you try the Before Update rather than the After Update?

Thank you. It seems to have worked. I had code in both the BeforeUpdate and AfterUpdate procedures. I put it in only the BeforeUpdate procedure and it works.

Thanks
