I have a microsoft access report that has numerous hyperlinks to documents on our intranet. The problem is that the hyperlinks are not converted the same as other word doc hyperlinks when converted to pdf. The word doc hyperlinks keep the hyperlink going through windows explorer to locate the intranet file, not going through a browser. However, the access report, when converted to pdf, converts the hyperlink differently, making them go through Internet Explorer (or the default browser). Is there a way I can force it not to go out to an internet browser to get to the intranet file? Why does a Microsoft Word hyperlink get converted differently than a Microsoft Access report hyperlink when converted to pdf? I don't see an option in the Adobe Acrobat preferences to dictate the hyperlink conversions for an Access report as you are able to do for Word?

if the link is specified as a file it will open the file in the appropriate viewer. If they have Adobe installed then it should open the program if not it will open in the browser with the adobe addin. check the link settings and specify file otherwise it is treated as n http hyperlink

Thanks for your thoughts, MazWorX. The report that I'm converting to Adobe is with Microsoft Access. The field that is in the report is a "hyperlink" data type. The hyperlink works just fine within Access (recognizes the UNC and does NOT go out to IE). It is only when the report is exported to Adobe that the hyperlink is converted to a URL. I can export the same Access report to Microsoft Word and then convert to pdf and the link is not converted, staying as a UNC. However, in running it through Microsoft Word, I loose my formatting. I've tried this export on both a system with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader. I've tried it with the "Create links from URLs" both turned on and off within Adobe preferences.

There has got to be something I'm missing in the conversion tool that is causing this....

Thanks again for any additional thoughts.
