Hello,

What would be the reason why this error sometimes appear:

"Could not update; currently locked" Whenever I try to update a form. I tried to Compact and Repair it but it still causes the same problem, I thought that it may be because of the file size, but it's currently just 6MB.

We use this database in the office with multiple users in it. And I couldn't update it with the error popping up again, any ideas?

Thank you very much

Yes, there are other users logged in, I understand that I won't be able to edit/change layout, etc on a form whenever someone is logged in since I need to have exclusive access to the database.

The problem I am having is that I am trying to fill up a form with information we need, but then whenever I try to save it or move to the next record, the error message keeps on showing up, and it sometimes freezes the database.

I know that I could fill up forms even with other users are logged in, since that's what we have been doing now. What makes me curious is why this error message appears.

Thank you again for the quick response

Are you using a split database? If not you may want to consider it. A copy of the front-end with the tables, queries, forms, macros etc for each user and a central copy of the back end with the data.

In any case, if you have record locking set to "all" rather than "edited" records, the problem would certainly occur.

Hope this helps.
