3 pos stations running Microsoft RMS version 2.0.0.0116, windows xp sp3
1 rms server windows 2008 server (standard)






rms configuration on workstations
enable openrowset and opendatasource support
local and remote connections (using both tcp/ip and named pipes)

shared memory 1 enabled
tcp/ip 2 enabled
named pipes 3 enabled
via disabled



on xp workstations

1433 udp exception (firewall)
1434 tcp exception (firewall)



all workstations in store administrator are configured to directly address the fixed ip address of the rms server with a timeout of 600 seconds


on 2008 server



1433 udp exception incoming and outgoing (local network only)
1434 tcp exception incoming and outgoing (local network only)


I should add this issue seems to occurr at the end of the transation





We have an RMS vender he/she is unable to resolve the issue. Can anyone assist with this issue?
