I have a Micros Workstation 4 that froze in the middle of the day during use. We couldn't reboot using the button on the bottom of the workstation so we had to remove the cord and plugged it back on.

Now this workstation unit is constantly rebooting at the 'Micros' blue screen, flashes white, gives one beep, and than goes back to the blue screen.

This process will repeat until it completely freezes and locks up with a long beep.

Could anyone let me know what is occurring? Is the CF corrupt?

Sound to be like an issue with the bios on the workstation.
If its not getting past the blue micros screen your in trouble.

Ive seen this happen before but the workstation was covered under the support contact so micros just replaced it.

Hi,
Agree it sounds like a BIOS problem. In troubleshooting, take out the compact flash and format it in a CF reader. Return it and see it it boots up.
There is a way to restore the BIOS to factory settings, as it boots up(with KeyBoard attached) go to the BIOS settings and select Factory restore. From memory the password is greenwood, I will get back to you on that. If you can get it to boot, you can run "WS4LXDiagUtility.exe \r" to run the Recovery image

Changes were made to the method to read back the image version and counter from FACRECOV.DAT

For WS5 the password is Grnbelt (case sensitive)

May be the same for WS4. Will look further. THe OS image is NK.bin

When it starts up you should hear a series of "long" and "short" beeps that would indicate the error that is causing the issue. I need to back in the hardware guide for all the series, but if you can mention that hear, we may stear you to the exact hardware issue. In my experience, the majority of the time, the touchscreen controller is the culprit.
