Hi ,

I m getting this error and i cant print any checks ,



check printer
chk xxx
unknow unsupervised abort code
statusclass 16, statuscode 254
failure sending to backup





any ideas ?
 
Any ideas what software you are running? Too funny!
 
I have seen that message a number of times and usually comes with miss-configured printers on the early v4 of Micros 3700
 
the config. of hardware or software ... and do you have the right config ?
 
The printer conection is Serial (db9) or IDN?
First review the conections in the workstation and you can review the correct configuration in POS Configurator / Devices / Devices
Try with Micros Confidence Test and tell us

yes it's usually a problem of configuration or unreachable printer and more often it happens with HHT - sometime when it's all configured correctly and the printer is working it may still give the error if somehow the printer is unreachable and on the next try it would work
 
its IDN ..

i checked the connections and on POS config also .. they are all right ... IDN 1 on com4 ... and so on pos config ..

also i m sure no one changed anything ...


the printer report gives .. busy considtion buffer full ... how can i empty the buffer ?

and whats the right config .. for dip switchs 1 & 2 ...

Micros printer .. on the outside .. but its the epson t88 in the inside
 
I had this exact same problem an a standalone 2010 unit that was a server and POS till. No other clints. There were 2 printers, an IDN TM-U220 for coffee and a Serial TM-T88. Everything worked fine. Receipts printed correctly etc. Failure came when trying to print the reports. Have you checked that there is a default printer setup for reports in RESTAURANT TAB? For the till, is there a printer selected for REPORTS in DEVICES\WORKSTATIONS\?

I couldnt find a fault and a colleague did a clean installation ad the same problem, then by the end of day it just worked and he didnt know what he did. All I could think of was that the System default printer, the system requires rebooting to load that.
 
yes .. i tried to restart the printer , pos , server ... i tried to reload the database .. and i tried to print reports too . but didnt work

i think its a hardware issue :S
 
on the back of the printer you have some switches and IDN 1 means that the switch 4 has to be in the ON position

the switch under the printer need to be set according to the model of the printer but should be as follow (double check with the printer manual) :

TM-T88/T88II/T88III -- DIP SWITCH 1 = ALL OFF // DIP SW 2-8: ON

next try to change the IDN port on the back of the printer (you have two ports IDN1 & IDN2 - both are identical)
