I'm using a MICROS 9700 system with PCWS 400448-064 's .. How do you align/calibrate the touchscreens on these terminals? I tried several suggestions I've found while searching, but I think it's referring to a Windows-based version. These are definatly running MS-DOS, disk-less boot.

Try to do the following:

On startup touch the upper corners -> Left - right - left

That should bring you to the system menu including calibration

Sorry i missed that ... long time since I worked for micros ;-) I just had to ask someone who is in the know and here are the results:

There is a 6 digit number displayed - and the formula for the access code is

1. x 2. + 4. + 6. digit

example: displayed number is 352567
-> 3 x 5 + 5 + 7 = 27

Tell me if it worked...

It worked perfectly -- is there a way into that menu with the keyboard (in case the touch screen is disabled as I found with one terminal)?

I think there is no way to do it with a keyboard. If you are not able to get into it by touching a) touchscreen is broken or b) sometimes the second of touching and the speed etc. is very important to get into config mode...

actually i found on the server there is a program you can force the terminal by mac id into a calibration mode .. only cost me 216$ from a micros tech to walk in and tell me that

As you mention - shame on me I did not remember that. Sorry.

Please help...i'm maintaining micros 8700 and just yesterday I added a new button called deliver fee. How this key work right now is when server start a new check or table from workstation 3 he or she can hit this key everytime food orders must be delivery to guest. New key is programmed as food items and ring up the same way like all food sales. Everything was working fine on the micros system sides. The revenues and system reports are fine. The problem is on the PMS side report, the delivery fee total is dumped onto the wrong area, food total istead and you would not see any sale total for the delivery fee at all. For example, if I have $100.00 delievey fee and food $500.00
the PMS report would look something like this.
Food: $600.00
Delivery fee:
I spoke to micros supports and they already knew what the problem was and they are willing to help me out only if I can find out if Delievery fee is an itemizer. I am not sure what an itemizer is and how can I find out if delivery fee is an itemizer or not. Is there another way to program deliver fee so that on the PMS side, the report can be seperate from food. Said, Food: $ 500.00, delivery fee: $100.00. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Should be somewhere in the MI Class of the item - Sales Itemizer.

The Itemizer is a - let´s say - group that is sent to PMS. so eg. all items with Itemizer 1 are Food, Itemizer 2 are Bev, 3 are tobacco etc.

So if you want to see the deliveryfee in PMS separately you have to assign an unused itemizer to the (new) MIClass "Fee" - assign the Class to the item "fee". Then Call Micros or PMS support and tell them to modify the interface and the PMS mapping for eg. itemizer 7 that should bee "fee".
