To you veterans out there-I have l learned more on this site and on my own than I did in training. This is second nature to you all but I need help again. I have a lab 4.10 lab- not on any network. Can I test a copy of a customers db on this. It has to be same version of below right? That can't be the end of it. Do I need to run setname. What about IP or mdshost? Can I attach peripherals to my offline lab? I copy the db - rename to .zip and extract, then copy into data directory?

Thank you ahead of time- couldn't find any resources for this one.

Yes, you can. If it's the same version you're good to go, if it's a lower version it will upgrade when you restore it.

Once you get it replaced open Network Nodes in the configurator. Change the computer name and IP on the Micros server to match your lab pc's name and IP.
Next open CA/EDC drivers and change the credit cards to demo mode.
Reload the database in the Control Panel and you should be able to run your tests.

If you are keeping the Lab isolated or segmented from the live you should be good, and also ok when connecting devices.
