Micros RES POS Configurator: Increase character limit of Menu Item Name

Hello, I have a question about the Menu Item names field.
Our system needs to deal with very long names for items and we are running into a problem.

There are 2 fields for an item, Name 1 (16 characters) and Name 2 (12 characters).
Is it possible to increase the limit of characters for these fields?

I tried copy-paste to insert text into the field, but this does not work. The save button cuts any extra characters in the field.

No, it isn't possible. The data types in the database for name_1 and name_2 only allow 16 and 12 characters.
