I recently upgraded a 4.10 database to res 5.0 on Windows server 2008 R2. The database upgrade seemed to go okay. But now when I try to paste a record and the menu items, in a particular revenue center, it is unable to paste the record. "Error occurred, Unable To Save Changes" The Details are: " General SQL error. {Sybase} ODBC Driver {SQL Anywhere} Update operation attempted on non-updatable query"

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Just an update… Its ends up that the revenue center doesn't affect it. This problem is happening in all revenue centers. I can copy records fine…. Cant paste…
Thanks

Are you sure the update was successful? You might try opening DM and running the update script again just to make sure.

The original DB was 4.10 . I thought you didn't need to use the update script past 4.9 mr1
Should I run the script anyway?

What I mean is that during the restore process from 4.10 to 5, it runs an update script. I've noticed the script doesn't always run successfully, so sometimes right after doing it you end up needing to run the upgrade script from DM.

Oh I see. So you are saying to go ahead and re-run the pre-convert patch on the newly imported and upgraded database?

Yes. Open DM, check 'upgrade script' and then click Run. See if that helps.

Well…. No luck… I tried both upgrading the database and applying the pre-convert script to the db through DM…. No dice…
Jast to be clear, there is no "update script" checkbox. Just an Update\Upgrade database checkbox, and a database script file dialog box. I Update\Upgraded the database. I also applied the pre-convert patch to it, hoping for a miracle. No luck.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Moregelen!

Can you check in the 3700d.log to see if there is a more detailed error message?

FYI
We are able to change all passwords in database manager including Micros and DBA but cannot connect into DBISQL.

For some reason it seems actions are not posting to the 3700d log since we rotated logs.

So I started over. Fresh install. No luck. It is definitely the database, not the install as I can import another 5.0 database and pasting works fine. I think I will pull my hair out and see if that helps.[afro2]

Just and FYI: Checking Update\Upgrade Database and hitting run returns "Database is current. No upgrade needed
