Good Evening All,

I don't suppose anyone knows if there is a way to insert a macro/button (on a manager only screen) that will allow a manger to override a fixed price menu item? either selling it at a higher price or lower...

The reason I ask is that we have a certain part of our retail side of the business that sells items at a fixed price in a shop outlet, but we also sell the same items on a website but at differing prices.
I would like to keep the items at a fixed price in the shop, but we need to equip a back office user with POS Operations on a PC so they can process all internet orders through a different RVC, this will allow correct Materials Control stock depletion and enable us to see all Revenue in one place via the MyMicros reporting tool.

Thanks in advance.

Can't you do this using price levels in the RVC that takes online orders?

Hi pmegan,

That was my initial thought also, although after speaking to the Materials Control manager he would rather the web site guys enter the item into RES 3700 at full price, then use a discount or using a additional (non specific open menu item to raise the price if need be to match the internet selling price. There will be no receipts given from 3700 as the customer would of received a Paypal receipt from the website.

I'm not 100% sure I understand why he has requested it to be done this way, all I can think of at the moment is that he is thinking the web site guys will be playing around with the prices quite a bit during the initial period, and his option will give them then greatest flexibility without causing the retail shop any issues, or them waiting on me to change the fixed prices within the 3700 price levels...

I don't really want to question the Materials Control manager as he is a company director, but was just putting the question out there in case there was an easier way of handling this, keeping things as simple as possible, but just allowing the system to work slightly differently for the web guys on their PC version of POS OPS.

Thanks for your time.

Do the Items need to have the same Micros Numbers for Online sales as the ones in Store? I was thinking you can make these items open priced and have the pricing posted to Micros via a set price from the site. So, the person taking the online orders enters the price that is listed on the online order form. Not sure if this is making sense or not, but it is a thought. I can elaborate if you need me too.

Hi Microslady,

That sounds interesting, would you mind giving me a few pointers on how to set this up/use the feature?

Thanks

The menu price override key is in the function transaction category. Program this touchscreen button on the appropriate screen. (if you need more help with that, let me know) Operationally, after posting the item, press this button and it will prompt the operator to enter the new price of the item. This is typically used for clearanced items, etc...

Hi MicrosLady,

That was exactly what I needed, thanks very much indeed [thumbsup2]
