Anyone know if Micros can do an order up display. The customer wants something similar to the screen that they use at, say, the DMV that show 'Now Serving...'; when they bump a ticket from their EXPO KDS it needs to show up on a separate, customer facing screen showing that the order is up... and when the next order is bumped, it needs to clear whatever is on the screen and show the new one. Its counter service at an airport, so while its an odd request, I can see where they are coming from... they are adamant about the feature though because they saw a McDonalds doing something similar and really want to do that with their system.
I already have a custom output device I wrote for alert manager way back when that lets you send the message over TCP to a specific IP address and port, but that still leaves writing the application to display the information.. while not terribly difficult, my preferred route is definitely to go with something 'official'....
