Its just a windows operating system. You an delete whatever you want including the micros POS software.
Whether or not the freeware software will run successfully depends will depend on how that freeware works. I guess you wont really know until you try.

Is there any particular reason you want to use an mTablet?
Since you are not intending to use the micros pos software why pay a premium for a tablet that has been designed specifically for that software?

I can get three mtablets together with the Backoffice very cheap. As i live in South Africa the backup support on the premium software is very bad as the companies tend to help their larger customers first and the small boys last. I am just not keen on paying the hefty monthly fee for the Micros software. I understand that the Android or iOS systems work better for a small invironment. I need two point of sales and preferably a cloud based backoffice.
