Hi,

Does anyone know how to stop the blue box appearing when issuing points, it's the box that asks you if you wish to 1) redeem total points, 2) redeem a lower amount of points, or 3) just issue points...

I would like to turn off the above box if possible, and just issue points when pressing the Issue Points button, then if we wish to redeem points, then we will manually press the redeem button.

The box with options is causing an issue, as if we choose to just use option 3 to just issue points, it puts two iCare sections on the guest check, one that states Issue Points, Points : 0 and another line that states Issue Points, Points: (total points), however if you wish to back out and cancel points issue, if you void both lines, it takes 2x the issued points from the account, instead of just the amount initially added..

Hard to explain, but hope that made some sense, ideally just need to stop iCare/RES from popping the box up....

Thanks

Its probably going to be a setting in your SVC config file. Open it in notepad and it will explain all the options to you. Find the right one and make your change.
You will then need to restart the service. Hope this helps.

I've had a look in there... but can't see anything related...

Thanks for the suggestion though ;)

You can see on the above screen shot that if I choose to just add new points and not redeem on issue, it puts multiple issue points entries on the guest check. The one that states Points: 0 and the other that states Points: 1496, where 1496 is the total balance of the account... it just does not look very simple to the guest to understand.

Ideally it should just add one entry to the check, stating say Points: 156 (i.e. that's the amount earned within that transaction).

If I void both points entries, it takes two lots of points off as per my original explanation... grrr iCare is so very frustrating for a newish user... I have read multiple manuals but nothing helps with this...

I thought origianly you were talking about the pop up box.
It appears you have 2 programs linked to the same issue points key code.
Look on icare to the programs linked to that media touchscreen key you are using.

Sorry, yes, I was talking about the popup box, as when it's a new customer with 0 balance, when points are added via the Issue Points button, it adds just the one entry onto the check, but it is when a customer already has points, that's when the popup box appears, and even if you select option 3 to just add new points and not redeem, it chooses to add the two point issue entries shown on the previous screen shot...

And these are the only two entries against the points issue button....

Make sure "Prompt for Redeem on Issue Points" is not checked on the loyalty program settings.

You are using "Redeem Points" which i have not seen used before. I would think thats whats greying out some of your options.
We use one program to issue the points. Then another program to do the awards (you link it in the default award program)
Icare is not fun to work with.
I don't know if this will fix your error though. And will take some programming to do.
Do you have the icare documentation? I can upload a few things that might help.

Yes, we allow the customer to redeem points @ 1pt = £0.01, so we have a RES3700 tender linked to the 'Redeem Points' function within iCare.

I have a few manuals that I have found:

- Systems Administration & Configuration Guide, 2008, 3rd Edition

- iCare Programming, Definitions, Suggestions & Configuration, 05/03/2012

Your right, it is far from fun to work with... I very much feel like the animated gif on my signature ;)
