Micros gift card tip

I just switched to the newest version of micros at my restaurant and after installation I was told that there is no way to add a tip to a gift card redemption after the card has been run. I refuse to believe this, anyone with any experience with this?

Are you using e7 or RES and which version? Also, what version of SVC are you using and who are you using to process your Gift Cards?

You should be able to if it is ran through your Credit Card provider. Some sites have an In house Rule not to allow this, but a Gift card is a tender like cash or Credit Card.

One of the options you could do, is upon giving the guest their receipt, have the Tip info (like a Credit Card receipt) on the trailer of the receipt, this way if they use a Gift Card they can see the option for the tip addition, or ask if they are leaving a tip on the Gift Card.
