I use to be able to pull an audit report for employes in Aloha for errors and other items as it shows full credit card nos with expiration dates and if they deleted by error I was able to input manually as the report showed every key punch entry.

I recently switched to Micros and still learning. Is there a report I can run for an individual employee indicating her key punches as if she deleted a translation or voided a payment as I have a Check with a credit card authorization and the server claims that the credit card authorization disappeared and we had to void the transaction.

Thank you in advance.

You can get transaction information from the journal files, how much depends on your system's configuration. However, recent versions of Micros do not, under any circumstances, record credit card info in a text file. That's a big, big, PCI no-no.

You can call MerchantLink support at 301.562.5001 and follow the prompts for credit card recapture. You'll need the CC slip with the auth on it, and you have to call from the phone number they have on record for your business.

thanks and will try as i was able to locate the journal files but they are in compressed (Zip format) and don't want to unzip the folder, can I copy and unzip on another computer, also is it possible for a charge auth disappear as it cant be deleted as I did few sample tests, again thanks for your help.

You can copy the journals, they're just text files with a .jnl extension.

CC auths seem to disappear from checks every once in a while. I don't know why, but it happens enough that MerchantLink has the CC recapture process in place to handle it.

Hello was able to get the CC nos from MerchantsLink so a BIG ThankYOU and they said that if servers change terminals or if the CC is left on the system unclosed for a while the auth can disappear ....one very last question
as you indicated.... You can copy the journals, they're just text files with a .jnl extension.
can I open/read the file on another computer with word or excell file as am not confortable unzipping the file on the Micros server..
thanks again and greatly appreciated

Yes, you can copy them to another computer. There's a 3rd party journal reader that makes it much easier to go through these than by opening them in word or excel. You can grab it off my google drive here. Just right click EJOrganizer and save it. There's no installer, it's a standalone application.
