Hallo, I'm looking for a db user with read only access and see that the user REPORTUSER is a read only account but can not find the password does anybody know it ? or any other account that is readonly ?

thanks

That user is used by Micros reporting applications, I don't think they make the password known, and if you change it those applications probably won't work anymore.

If you need a read-only account that's going to be used in a custom application, add a user through database manager and assign the privileges in sybase central.

Thank-you pmegan for your reply it's a very helpful information unfortunately I only have the custom password for the db so after creating a new user can't move-it to the read-only group, the privileges seems similar to the reportuser user but I maybe wrong as I'm not very experienced on db management, so I'm wondering if this user would have any access at all or too much access, as I'm looking for a read only user for reporting purpose what other option do I have, if any ?
