Hello, I have a client using Micros 3700 RES Version 5.2
They asked me to set up automatic discounts depending on sales items. For example, on Tuesday nights they offer wings discounted to $10 from $16 with the purchase of a beverage. I got the automatic discount setup using Combination pricing with the Category group and Menu Item as triggers. All looks good on the POS side and the bills print accordingly. Everything works great until they go to process a payment.
They use an integrated payment system called Eigen which allows the server to swipe or enter their employee number into the handheld credit card terminal and it brings up the table or check numbers for payment. The issue is that the discount does not register on the payment terminal. For example if the server rings in an order of wings ($16) and beer ($5) the bill on MICROS screen shows the discounted price of $15 ($16 - $6 + $5) and when printed shows $15 as well. But the payment terminal prompts for $21. I noticed that on the MICROS screen the Automatic Discount doesn't show an * asterisk next to it to signify it has been sent so maybe that is what is causing this but I can't figure out why the discount won't fully 'send'. It prints fine and when another payment method is used (i.e. Cash) the discount applies and reports correctly. The only way I was able to get the discount to fully register and send was to apply a cash payment, remove it and then the correct total showed up on the payment terminal but obviously that isn't a practical solution.
Any help is appreciated
