Micros 610 workstation - upgrading drive to M.2 - USB image

Greetings,
anyone add a new sata M.2 drive to a Micros 610 workstation?
my USB boot image will not recognize Disk 0. this is the new drive. it keeps defaulting to disk 2. says eMMC is using Disk 2
it will then error out, saying disk is not valid and no disk selected.
I've been told to clone but would like to be able to image from USB. works fine with old drive.

I'd try using clonezilla instead. Always works perfectly for me when imaging workstations
