Micros 3700 why are net and gross sales different

Hello, I have a question.
Our restaurant burned down and we are setting everything up from scratch and we lost our cheat sheets on how to make reports match.
We use Micros 3700.
Our net sales and gross sales do not match.
Can anyone help me point out why? I can provide the monthly or daily consolidated system sales detail report if need be!

open POSCFG and go to Sales -> Menu Item Classes-> select and item class and look at the Price/totals tab make sure the option "Suppress from Net Sales Total" option bit is not enable for any of the menu item classes (unless you do need it)

Gross and net sales are NOT supposed to match. They are different things...

Gross sales are the sum of everything rung in
Net Sales are the sum of everything people pay for. Not included in net would be Voids, Comps, Promos
