Micros 3700 v 4.x or 5.x demo install

Hello there,

Anyone have Micros 3700 4.x or 5.x install images, i am looking to run it in demo mode on a separate pc to get out changes that i would like to make before i roll them out. Thanks for the help in advance.

I think your best option would be to make a copy of your live server and run it in a virtual machine.

Download this VMware converter tool.

This tool allows you to make a copy of a physically running computer without turning it off. You can then copy the resulting virtual machine to any other computer you want.

Advantages:
1. You can keep a working copy of the whole system and not just the Micros database.
2. Its very easy to use.
3. Makes your test evironment portable.

Advice:
Although you can run this on a server which is turned on and you're trading i would advise you to not make a copy while you are trading as the copying process will put the server under pressure for disk access, cpu and network usage. It may slow down the workstations.

After you have made the copy dont run the virtual machine on the same network as the live environment. It can cause issues if not configured correctly.
