i am using 3700 with XP version and with the new EVP cc policy need the whole system upgrade, I can use an external device to process cc but is there a reasonable or better option or an interface that i can connect the external credit card system, i have asked both Micros and Aloha but non of them have could tell me how the new system will read the card with the chip., any thoughts / regards

Wildbar... you say integrated credit, where did you get the card swiper? From Oracle? Eigen? Is it a stand alone swiper or mounted on the POS Station?

@TobeThor
Eigen offers a number of options for the integrated credit and debit. Wired pinpads, handhelds. etc. We use cellular pay at the table handhelds and are very happy with them. Eigen supplies the handhelds, the interface and the support. Takes about maximum 2 seconds to pull up a micros bill on the handheld. Once closed on the handheld its closed on Micros. Almost no accounting / input errors streamlining the daily cash balancing and we have had zero chargebacks after 18 months of use.

How can I find out what version and the best option to upgrade as I am running xp n understand it needs windows 7.
Any help would be great. Thx.

You could also contact Shift4. I believe Shift4 uses an application that is considered a compensating control and therefor means that the XP OS on back office becomes a non-issue in regards to PCI rules.
Might be worth checking.
