Hi,
I am pretty new to Micros, and need some assistance, please! We have paid alot of money to Micros for tech support in the past. The system just got updated from micros today to protect customer cc information. We have updated some prices on our menu. And changed them in the system. Now, we would like to conquer "clean up" some old menu items that are no longer used out of the system. Also add hard key buttons on the food server screen (where appetizers, entrees, desserts are listed, not menu items, like the categories) I have been nominated to take on this task, I am wondering if there is a manual online or some websites with frequently asked questions for general use of the back office part of micros. I do know how to delete an item, but some items come with a error message. Since this system was install years ago, there hasnt really been anyone in the restaurant keeping info up to date or really managing the system. We have frequent crashes. Where the system needs to be restarted. Micros doesnt have anything listed on their website(duh... cuz they want you to pay for their high priced support) I would also really like to know what steps should be taken to protect the system and its database (daily, montly, etc) so we can have this system running smoothly again. With less crashes. I think the one gentlemen that came out once said the system should be rebooted daily? I thank you for your help.
