I have input an option for an 18% gratuity to be added for large parties. The service charge will apply to the check just fine, but it causes some tickets to be unable to close out. Certain tickets will give a "transaction code not allowed" error. I have not noticed any similarities in tender type with this issue. It has happened with VISAs, American Express cards, room charges, etc.
The only way I have found around it is to void out the service charge (after pre-authorizing), and close the check with the tip added on manually. That seems to work, so I assume it's a problem with the options on the service charge itself.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance!
