micros 3700 schedule classes problem 1

I'm trying to set up auto sequence reports to run at specified times.

I've set up the schedule class to run daily at 4 pm. I've assigned the auto sequence to the schedule class. I've tried using the print option as well as the preview report option but it's still not running.

Hey,

Remove the preview option, it is stopping the report from printing. The schedule will run at 4am and pauses for the preview. The problem with this scenario ALSO is that the default printer setup for the report is used up at the preview (i.e. Landscape) and after the preview, if printed, will print in the printer default setup (likely to be Portrait). This is probably the most common problem.

What version of Res are you running?

First, make sure the autosequence runs.

[li]Set the privilege level to 0 and uncheck Hide On Run Screen.[/li]
[li]Open Autosequences and Reports, go to the Autosequence tab and run your new autosequence. Scheduled autosequences have to be able to run without any user interaction, so if at any point you have to click for it to continue its a problem. This includes selecting the report date. You should have preset date ranges for "today" and "yesterday". Make sure the first report in your autosequence has a date selection, and the rest of the steps inherit that date.
Check the time your End Of Night runs. If your reports are running before the EON, set the date to "today". If they're running after the EON, set the date to "yesterday".[/li]
[li]While the autosequence is running, watch the screen to see if any errors scroll past.[/li]

If it runs without any erros, make sure you're autosequencer is running.

[li]If you're on v3.x the autosequence server will be in the control panel, make sure it has a green checkmark. If you're on 4.x the autosequences run as a service. Open the windows services module and find Micros Autosequences. Make sure its running, and that the startup is set to Automatic. If you don't have any autosequences that move files between PC's you can let it run as the system account.[/li]
[li]Click Start/All Programs/Micros Applications/Utilities/Autosequence Schedules. You'll get a popup window that shows the next scheduled run time for any autosequence with a schedule class linked to it. If your 4:00AM autosequence isn't in there check the schedule class. Make sure you don't have conflicting autosequences. If the automated End Of Night is trying to run at the same time as your report autosequence you may have problems. If this is the case, either reschedule your reports or add a call to the reports autosequence to your End Of Night.[/li]
[li]Open My Computer and go to \micros\res\pos\etc. Find the file 3700d.log and open it with notepad. Towards the bottom you'll see the autosequence you just ran. Scroll around until you find entries from around 4:00AM. You should see lines showing you the autosequence running step-by-step. Look for any error messages in those steps. If you don't see the steps at all, your autosequence isn't running.[/li]
