Micros 3700 Restriction on voiding SVC sale / tender

Hi,

EM environment here with several stores. Currently having an issue with gift cards causing an accounting nightmare. Using a 3rd party GC service and processor, if an operator swipes a GC for the incorrect amount they / the managers first instinct is select the improper line total and VOID it. This DOES NOT return the value back on to the GC to be re swiped for the correct amount. Instead the card is now less the improper amount and micros has no record of the tender being applied *deep sigh*


I know i can set the privilege on the sale and redemption of GC's but i'm looking to flat out prevent the voiding of a SVC sale or redemption unless they have a password higher manager.

Think you would need to set that you would need a manager approval for payment or void of payment of the gc tender. would that work for you?

So i cant restrict the accepting of a GC as a payment but i was only looking to restrict the VOIDING of a payment.

you should be able to set a specific void level for GC payment, but honestly sounds like your 3rd party needs to look into the scripts if voided payments arent being returned to the card.
