Micros 3700 res 5.5 mr1. Need to send certain menu items to a text file

One of my sites would like to have the ability to send certain menu items to sms. Now I am having trouble trying to get the menu item when being rung up convert to a txt file. I have the ability to take a text file insert it to an email. Then email to sms. Can someone point me in the right direction?
