Im having trouble and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
We have a newly installed (6 mths) Micros 3700 with 5 workstations in a bar atmosphere.

We have some menu items that are only available from on certain days (for instance, Pint Nite...all "Pints" are only 2 bucks). Tuesday we offer 2-4-1, etc...

Heres what I want to do: I want to use "Menu Levels" (or SOMETHING) to "turn on" the icon only for the day it's needed, then "turn off" the menu items icon so it can't be rung up on a different day (don't want my servers giving their friends a pint for 2 bucks, when it should be 4).

I DO have Happy Hour setup correctly on the system (works like a champ and runs daily from 4-8). I just can't figure out for the life of me how to get these icons to go away on days they are NOT needed!!

I am at a loss, I know menu levels are for happy hour and what not, am I asking too much???

It isn't too terribly difficult actually. Basically you have to define menu level classes, which tell it "this menu item is only available at these menu levels".

It will deny the ability to ring the item in if you aren't at the right menu level.

In the picture above, they are setup to run lunch and dinner, main levels 1 and 2 respectively. You can go further than that though; you can create 20 different combinations (including based on day of week) really given you can use either sub levels or main levels for control.

The "Menu Level" stuff is kinda hazy to me. I do have the traditional Happy Hour setup...and it works fine. But I can't get any other levels to work correctly. Also..just to ensure I'm clear how this Main/Sub stuff works...the Sub field is the price, correct? I'm still a bit confused on the "Main" level. But...onto my Menu Levels. For instance, under "Menu Levels", I have the following:

All (everything is checked on both Main & Sub) Nothing selected in the "Pop Up" area
HH (Main - 1 & 2 is checked, all of Sub is checked) Nothing selected in the "Pop Up" area
Monday (Main-3 is check, all of sub is checked) Nothing selected in the "Pop Up" area
Tuesday (Main-4 is checked, all of sub is check) Nothing selected in the "Pop Up" area

and so on.....

I would think that if I wanted my menu items to "turned on" on certain days, like Monday, then I'd have my Menu Level Class set to "Monday"...but I'm not sure what boxes should be checked (Main/Sub). I've tried various combo's, but it's either there all days...or not.

Does that make sense? I have a "Specials" menu that I only want to display what is on special that day. Right now my bartenders have to scroll through 3 pages of icons...but on any given day, only 10 or so SHOULD be used.
