Hi guys

I have a question on micros 3700 printing .

I have a scenario where there is a main kitchen printer that's suppose to print all kitchen orders and hot kitchen order that only prints hot kitchen stuff

However the main printer prints two dockets for both main kot ant the hot kot is there away to make it print only one docket for both printers?

Also is there away to print orders with different fonts?

If the main printer is printing 2 dockets, then there must be 2 Order Devices linked to the one printer or physical device. Start with the Print Class of a known menu item that prints two and Follow the links to the Order Devices and Devices. Remember that the list in Order Devices is virtual, meaning there can be many Order Devices listed for the same physical device. Two Order Devices, one physical equals two Dockets for the same item.

Fonts are controlled by the Epson printer and I don't know the possibilities.

I understand that much but do you know a way i can have the physical device can print the items from the two order device in one printout instead of printing items of order device one then cuts the paper and then prints the rest, which makes it appear as two orders instead of one order.

No, you can't link a physical printer to two order devices and make the chits for each print out in one long, order specific ticket. Each chit is it's own print job, so they can't be merged.

It sounds like Jackba wants to merge the kitchen chits for two order devices sharing the same physical printer, into one long chit. Basically, print the All Items and Hot Items chits without a paper cut between them, and cut it when the second chit is done.

pmegan exactly
what am looking for how can one go about setting it up?

BootstrapperRI yes its item from the same check

If the items are on the same check and within the same service round and going to the same order device, then it should be on the same chit. Not sure what else it could be.

the items are on diffrent printclass and its printing but giving two dockets ,i just need 1 on the main printer regardless of the printclass as @pmegan stated above

The only reason it would give two tickets is if you had two different order devices setup pointing at the same device. Check that under order devices; do you have two order devices setup to go to the same physical device? If you want just a single printout as if it were a single order device, you should be able to redirect one order device to the other. You won't get two chits on a single sheet; the system will just combine them into a single one, which sounds like what you want. It will be as if you only had a single order device setup. This would be the lazier way of combining two order devices, instead of just modifying your print classes.

Hey Moregelen. He does have two order devices using the same physical printer. One prints the entire order, the other prints only items for the hot station, and both chits are coming out of the same printer. This is the desired setup from what I understand. What Jackba wants is to eliminate the paper cut between the two for each order and have two chits for each order on one long strip of paper.

From my understanding he wants the output of two different order devices sharing a physical printer as a single print. I don't think he is asking for two chits on one piece of paper, but wants to simply make it a single chit. At least that was my understanding:

I could be misinterpreting that though; it is a bit unclear.

can't an isl achieve this? i have a client who says his previous POS could do that ,lets just say i dared him to show me and it actually worked[ponder]

It can probably be done with a SIM, but it would be a whole lot of work, and would pretty much be writing your own print module. What was your client's previous POS? I think Squirrel has a feature like this; they actually have really flexible printing. I know they can print a consolidated item list for the kitchen and a detail by seat for food runners on one chit, not sure about merging chits from multiple order devices onto one though.

its called gaap i believe its from South Africa...anyway thanks guys for your time , i just have to convince him that its not possible for now
