Hello guys,
This is my first post and glad I finally found a forum for POS systems. I currently receive an error along the lines of "Error printing (null) checkNumber" on the KDS system. I have two kitchen printers, one for the counter side and one for the drive thru which are "Kitchen01 Prtr" and "Kitchen02 prtr" respectively. I have tried all of the following:
1. Unplugged the drive-thru printer with the same adapter still connected and plugged it in the counter printer's connection. The printer printed counter tickets perfectly.
-Eliminates the possibility of a faulty printer or adapter unit.
-Eliminates the possibility of incorrect dip switch configuration.
-Issue is in the connection or not properly being sent out from PCWS05.
2. I then took the printer up to PCWS05 which is controlling the printer via MDSPrinters.xml and plugged it directly into the workstation with a new CAT 5 eliminating the connection through the wall and etc. The printer was still not functioning [sadeyes]. Not all the way sure if I should be getting results directly plugged into PCWS05 or not but it made sense to me.
-Eliminates possibility of bad connection between PCWS05 and Kitchen 02 printer.
-I also noticed with this particular store that when I got for the confidence test in the printer and go to the IDN tab not printers are listed
--However it also did this for PCW04 which is connected to Kitchen 01 and functioning, but when I did the print test it worked on Kitchen 01? I am used to the printers being listed there.
3. Of course I have rebooted all of the Micros system and also the main computer. Reloaded the database etc.

If anyone could provide me some insight that would be awesome. I also am having a tech come out to look at the situation so I will provide an update.

model printer?
how does the printer react when you do a self test? (power on with feed button held down)
does it print set up parameters and the alpha portion OK?
