Micros 3700 not detecting Digital Persona fingerprint reader

I'm having issues getting Micros to detect these devices (Digital Persona U.are.U 4500). Using both WS5s and WS6s. Drivers are definitely installed on the WS6. Not sure on the WS5 though. Device manager on WS5 tries to point to the server, but when I try using servername or IP, it says it cant find network path. Same network path works fine on WS6.

Micros runs well on both workstations. Server shows all WS up and running. I read starting with RES 4.5, fingerprint readers are no longer configured by default to save space. I used POS Config to lookup peripherals and add fingerprint scanner to each WS, but noticed there is only an option for intergtated, not USB. I'm running out of sanity.


Also tried getting U.are.U 5160 to read on WS6, but cant get it configured right in device manager. It keeps installing as a PC Camera instead of biometric reader like the 4500. Perhaps I don't have the proper drivers for it.

which version of micros are you using?

for workstation 6 I have tried but it seems not to be compatible at list that's my conclusion on ws6

For ws5 have on the POS config have you set it as integrated also if its simphony you have to uninstall the one on ws5 and let it install the one in simphony

Version 3700. Integrated is the correct setting in POS Config? I'll double check WS5 tomorrow. I was focusing more heavily on getting it up on WS6. Are you using U.are.U 4500 or the older 4000b I've seen referenced in the manuals?
