We got a prompt that we needed to install adobe acrobat to view PDF reports. Acrobat was installed and now we get blank reports. No data. It doesn't matter what the date range we choose.

How can we verify that the database hasn't been corrupted and still has usable data?

Thanks!

Is this on the workstations or server? And when you say the reports are blank is there nothing showing on the screen? No titles, headings, dara - screen is white. Or just no dara returned?

The problem is on the server.

I Called Oracle and after installing the proper VERSION of pdf reader (with their help), report (consolidated sales report is the test report) is at least being generated. The problem is that it has 0's for values for everything in all time frames between 2016 to 2020. (except "Grand Total" - that has the same value as period end of 2016 printout.) It appears that we suddenly have no data after 2016. Literally nothing between 2016 and 2020. In 2020 the restaurant closed due to covid.

I would think that we could restore from a recent backup or one from around the time that the restaurant closed. Unfortunately, whoever set the system up did not configure a backup routine at all. And the routine for Micros wasn't generating any either. So we don't have a backup of the working system.

I've used an undelete program to inspect for files associated with the time frames but I'm coming up empty... I am honestly perplexed. it's like 2017, 18, 19 just never existed on this installation. But we used it and have printed versions of period end reports from it.

Thank you Wildbar for replying to my thread.

Its going to depend how long our historical totals are set for. Usually Oracle defaults some to like checks and labour to 4 weeks. Things like daily sales to 365 days. If your is set like that and you are looking past that date (you say you were closed for a year) it will show blanks. Check your Historical totals settings in Reporting. FYI though changing some to longer dates can bog down the system.

The maximum time for historical data is a 3-digit number of maximum 999 days, depending on what is set in the configuration shorter.
If you do not have a printout or backup of the database each year, your data will be irreversibly lost.
