Micros 3700 - Multiple items tied to the same inventory count?

Hi, I am hoping someone can help with this issue.

The issue is in our system we have multiple items that use the same product, but are separate items, and we would like to be able to set availability numbers that all applicable items pull from.

For example, we have 3 BBQ platters: Brisket, Pork and Combo (half brisket, half pork.) If we are running low on 1 item, say pork, I would like to set a qty we have available that would count down when EITHER a pork platter or combo platter is ordered.
Is there a way to create a separate item on a hidden menu that the main items would use for inventory? We would be able to set a count on the "hidden" pork item that would count down when the items tied to it are sold.

I see what you would like to do.

You have an ingredient PORK that is used on three items in your menu. So when you sell out of pork those three items become unavailable.

To do this you would need to use inventory module.

Each item is built with a recipe and each item had the ingredient PORK by weight.

Your inventory level of PORK is 20lbs.

Each time you sell an item with your PORK ingredient it reduces your PORK inventory level based on the amount of the item recipe. 4,6,8oz etc. When PORK inventory item is depleted it sells out all Menu items with that recipe ingredient PORK.

That is exactly what we need to accomplish.

Pardon my ignorance, but is the Inventory Module built into Micros, or is it an add-on?

There is a local (Product Management) add on for 3700 and a cloud based (Myinventory) for 3700.
To my knowledge neither has this feature of selling out an item based on the inventory item and recipe. The inventory item just goes negative.

Inventory is an addon. Call your local office to inquire of price and ask about the sellout to confirm.
Think is does and I have worked on both inventory applications buy its been a few years so memories are fading.
